Blue Sky Capitalize on Buyers Market at Magic Millions…
Blue Sky Thoroughbreds were again active on their home turf at this year’s Magic Millions Premier Sale, purchasing 11 yearlings for clients and trainers at the 5 day sale.
In a catalogue of 690 yearlings plus a further days selling in ‘Session 5’, Blue Sky Thoroughbreds purchased yearlings from $9000 to $130,000 in what truly was a buyers market.
“ I think magic Millions would be delighted with the clearance rate of over 80%, but in saying that in really was a buyers market with plenty of value to be found” commented Blue Sky Bloodstock Director Julian Blaxland. “Quite often in recent years we have found it tough to buy the horses we want for our clients at “value” but this year if you had done your work there was plenty to be found”.
Blue Sky launched their 2010 Funds on Magic Millions race day and will source yearlings for its Racing, Filly and Stallion (a joint venture with Arrowfield) Funds at the upcoming Karaka sales in NZ and the Inglis Premier (Melbourne) and Easter (Sydney) sales in the coming months.
Blue Sky’s funds have kicked off the year nicely with COMMON INTEREST (Stallion Fund 2008) an unlucky 3rd in the Kensington Stakes at Flemington on Saturday and 2yo’s SALIVATE (2009 Filly Fund) and BENETEAU (2009 Stallion Fund) both in the pre post Blue Diamond market.
