Blue Sky secure Sister to Dowry at Karaka…

Blue Sky Thoroughbreds were active yesterday at the New Zealand Bloodstock Weanling, Broodmare and Mixed Bloodstock Sale at Karaka purchasing the mixed session sale topper Lasting Legacy for NZ$100,000. The 3yo daughter of Pins is a half sister to Group 1 South Australian Oaks winner Dowry and NZ stakes winners Fatal and Richfield Destiny.

'Ïts a great family and with the Australian dollar so strong at present she presented great value to our Aussie clients being so well related', said Blue Sky Managing Director Julian Blaxland. 'I think a filly like this would have made a lot more should she have been sold at the recent Australian Broodmare Sale at Newmarket, so there is plenty of upside in bringing her home to Australia and breeding her this coming season. I bought the yearling Charge Forward filly from Dowry at Easter select 1 (Lot ) for clients and we know the whole family is being bred up, so there is plenty happening is the pedigree. We constantly look for value for clients to give them an edge in the commercial breeding market and hopefully this filly will represent just that over the next 12 months.

Blue Sky is gearing up for a big sale at the Magic Millions National Sale at the Gold Coast from May 27th - June 12th. The National Sale offers Australasia's largest selection of Weanlings, Broodmares and Yearlings to the market in one sale and Blue Sky will be looking for value at all budgets over the 2 week auction. Blue Sky will again have its Sale Day office set-up inside the Magic Millions Sales Auditorium offering vendors, buyers and breeders free mating advice and bloodstock services over the course of the sale. To discuss stallions, your weanling, yearling or broodmare, drop into the Blue Sky Office at the sale for a chat and light refreshments at any time during the sale. Online catalogues can be found on the NEWS and EVENTS page.
