Exciting Debut by Redoute's Choice Colt…

Another exciting prospect by champion sire Redoute's Choice hit the track at Canterbury on Wednesday when the three-year-old Rekindled Alliance made a stunning winning debut.

Trained by Paul Messara, the colt raced greenly but showed his class to steam past his rivals for an impressive win over the unsuitable short trip of 1100m, making a big impression on his jockey Corey Brown.

Brown said, "He travelled really well although a bit green, but when I pressed the button, he really accelerated.

"I haven't ridden one for a while that quickened like that."

Rekindled Alliance was a $400,000 purchase from the Bellerive Stud draft at the 2010 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

His full brother, last season's G2 AAMI Vase winner Rekindled Interest, opened his spring campaign with an eye-catching second in last Saturday's G3 Aurie's Star Handicap at Flemington.

Sadly, their dam Rekindled Affair died in December of 2009 after foaling a filly by Redoute's Choice.

By Rainbow Quest from Irish stakeswinner Seasonal Pickup, Rekindled Affair is the dam of seven winners from eight foals to race including US G3 winner Where We Left Off and European stakeswinner Porticcio.

Rekindled Alliance

Rekindled Alliance was bred by Jonathan Munz and he shares in the ownership with Arrowfield Stud and and Blue Sky Thoroughbreds.

The partnership of Blue Sky Thoroughbreds and Arrowfield is dedicated to identifying and developing stalllion prospects.

Among them is Beneteau, standing his first season at Arrowfield in 2011, and dual Group winner Shrapnel who remains in training with Mark Kavanagh.

Redoute's Choice has now had eleven Australian winners in the first 10 days of the 2011/12 season.

Five of his winners are bright 3YO prospects – Just The Tonic (trained by Gai Waterhouse), Niconoise and Cross Of Gold (David Hayes), Hurriyet (Peter Moody) and Rekindled Alliance.
